Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Begin your adventure with a morning departure from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, a landscape defined by towering baobab trees, seasonal wetlands, and one of East Africa’s largest elephant populations. Upon entering the park, enjoy your first game drive as wildlife gathers around the Tarangire River.

Throughout the day, keep watch for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, lions, and a remarkable variety of birdlife while your guide shares fascinating insights into the park’s unique ecosystem.

Later in the afternoon, continue to your lodge or camp for dinner and your first evening in the African wilderness.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, travel to the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its lush groundwater forest, alkaline lake, dramatic Rift Valley escarpment, and incredible birdlife. Although one of Tanzania’s smaller parks, it offers exceptional ecological diversity.

Enjoy a full day exploring habitats where elephants wander beneath ancient mahogany trees, troops of baboons move through the forest, hippos relax in shallow pools, and thousands of flamingos may gather along the lakeshore. Lucky visitors may even spot the park’s famous tree-climbing lions.

After your afternoon game drive, travel toward Karatu or the Ngorongoro Highlands for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Highlands to Serengeti National Park

Following breakfast, continue through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Along the journey, admire breathtaking views across volcanic highlands before descending onto the endless plains that define one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands

After a relaxed breakfast, enjoy one final morning game drive as you gradually make your way out of the Serengeti. The journey back through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area offers changing scenery and occasional wildlife sightings along the route.

Arrive at your accommodation on or near the crater rim during the afternoon, where you’ll have time to relax and prepare for the following morning’s crater safari.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

Rise early and descend approximately 600 meters into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, home to one of Africa’s highest concentrations of wildlife. Enjoy an unforgettable morning game drive across the crater floor while searching for lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and the endangered black rhinoceros.

After a picnic lunch beside the crater’s scenic lake, ascend the crater walls and begin your return journey to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon with unforgettable memories of Northern Tanzania’s extraordinary wildlife and landscapes.
